It's been 4 1/2 months...

since I had my surgery. I wish I could say things are going great and I'm losing weight at a respectable pace....BUT I"M NOT! I currently have lost a TOTAL of 7lbs! How humiliating! Yes, my lack of weight loss is COMPLETLEY my fault and I do OWN that. I am not eating properly nor am I exercising enough. It's such a head game I'm playing. Keep waiting for that fill that is going to give me restriction and CHANGE MY LIFE. Am I kidding myself? I have had 4 fills so far for a total of 8cc in my APL 14cc band. I can still eat just like pre-op and I do! Dieting was what I was supposed to do before I had surgery, right? Arg! I had an appointment yesterday with my Doc for a fill and I talked to him about my frustration with not feeling any restriction and my lack of weight loss. I have read of people having their fill under Fluro and their Doc filling them to restriction, so there is no guessing. I am happy to report that my Doc has agreed to do this for me! Is this my "light at the end of the tunnel"? Will this give me the kick in the pants that I so desperately need? I HOPE SO! People please don't get me wrong, I know that my head plays a HUGE part in my journey BUT so does the ability to "feel" satisfied after eating a small portion of food. IMO this "bandster hell" should not be a "normal" part of this surgery. We had this surgery to lose weight and we should be "allowed" to be filled to restriction once we have healed properly. We need the band to be "working" in order to have success, why else is it there? Think about it, no other forms of WLS have to "wait" for their surgery to "work". I'm not dissing the band by any means, this is what I chose for my own personal reasons. In a nutshell, I just feel that we should be able to have restriction as soon as our body has healed properly... Thanks for letting me rant and I look forward to posting after my fill under Fluro...I hope!    Haters and Flamers need not reply, I know that there are others out there who feel exactly the same way - I just said it!

Hi! I'm relatively new here, but I've seen other posts along this line and other members referred them to the lap band forum. You might get some really good advice there. One of my friends has the band, and while it took a couple of months to get it figured out, she finally started losing weight and has lost 60+ now. Good luck! Laura

Hi Laura - This band is a slow process and I'm just impatient. I know that just like your friend the weightloss will happen, it's just a matter of TOO much time! LOL BTW - I did cross post to the Lap forum, just keeping my NC friends up to date : ) Take Care!

Hey Wendy: I feel bad for you...that just stinks!  If that was going to be your results without feeling full, you would never have put yourself through this.   When will you get the fluro fill?  Hope that works for you.    Good luck my friend! Pam

I did hit a stone wall for about a month with next to no wt loss and found out it was hypothyroidism so we all have some issues but some are just bigger than others.    Thanks tho...feeling great and hope you will soon also! Pam

Wendy, Hang in there!  Remember to follow the band rules!!!!  Eat solid protein first and NO DRINKING with your meals!!!  These rules really make all the difference!  I know exercise totally STINKS!!!  I HATE IT, but it is key to quicker weightloss.  I was averaging 15 pounds a month when I was exercising, then this past month I haven't exercised due to the heat and kids being home and I have only lost 5.  Best wishes to you!  Hopefully this next fill with help you.  I have my 3rd fill on the 14th.  You can do this!!!  It takes a lot of work from YOU, but you can do it!  Be Blessed! Andrea
