sigh, pain in right side?

I'm losing great, but in the past week I've had 2 bouts of pain in the right front side, just at my waist area.  It feels like the worst cramp ever, and on both occasions I have started to "haze out" (like fainting****il I sit down.  The pain lasts (in waves) for several hours.  It feels like I need to havea bowel movement.  But having one doesn't necessarily make a difference in the discomfort.  Ideas anyone?

With fainting spells and pain that lasts several hours, I think I'd call my surgeon.  Off the top of my head, I'd guess hernia, but I am most definitely not a medical professional.  Let us know what you find out, we love to learn. Take care. Ellen

I haven't had this happen, but as Ellen suggested, please call your surgeon right away and have them investigate. Please take care of yourself.

There are a number of things this could be, and every single one of them requires a medical evaluation. Get thee to your surgeon.  Sooner than later.. some complications are *not good*.

Just an update.   I talked to Tammy at Dr. Jon's office last week.  The discomfort and associated issues have disappeared and not returned.  (I pooped every time I went to the bathroom!)  So if things return I'll call and get an appointment.  If not, I'll just mention it when I see the doc in early August.   

My best guess, I was constipated and backed up seriously.
