What is your favorite?...
My surgery is scheduled for 7-22 so I am going to be asking a lot of questions between now and then..I sure hope ya'll don't mind.
My first question is...
What is your favorite source of protein supplement and where do you purchase it?
Thanks in advance to all of ya'll who have been thru this and are so willing to help out all of us newbies! This site is so great.
Have a Blessed Monday!

My fav source of protein used to be slim fast low carb. It has 2 carbs and 20 gm protein. Now that I have an ulcer they told me milk will help ease the pain so now I drink 2Cskim milk w/ 2 packets of SF instant carnation breakfast. The count is 26 gms of protein.I drink this 2x a day (morning and night) then in between I drink Special K protein water mixes. I prefer the pink lemonade and they have 5 gms of protein each. Total for day is usually around 60 gms and my doc said get 60-70 per day so I am in the range, barely!!!
Anyways thats what I do but everyone says your taste buds change after surgery altho I dont believe mine did.I liked the slim fast before and after.

My Nut is the one *****ccomended the carnation instant breakfast. My doctors office also seconds that reccomendation. And according to my skim milk it only has 11 gms sugar and the instant breakfast has 7. Altho it is more than a single digit or 15 it still is what I was recommended. And since I found I have an ulcer it has really helped with the pain.
Hey, cool, we have WLS Twins!
Congrats on having a surgery date. Exciting, huh? Tomorrow you'll be able to say "later this month" and then the countdown will go so quickly.
My favorite protein supplement deal is to start off every day making 64 oz. of Crystal Lite Raspberry Lemonade and then mixing in a 42g New Whey Liquid Protein Fruit Punch bullet. I divide this into two 32-oz. water bottles to stay accountable for my full 64 oz. Now that it's incredibly hot, I often don't add quite as much water and add tons of crushed ice to keep my proteiny lemonade icy cold and yummy.
I also keep a stash of various types of protein powders at home and another at the office. BSN Lean Dessert Proteins in Banana Nut and Chocolate Peanut Butter are among my faves. But sometimes I love the fruity taste of Syntrax Nectar Peach. Or smoosh some banana protein powder in with pudding ... the choices are limitless.
