I went for my upper gi today and found out that I have an exceptionally large ulcer in my small intestine.  They put me back on Nexium(now it is twice a day) and carafate(4xs daily)They gave me a picture of it and it looks horrible. The doctor told me he wasnt 100% thats what the pain was from but it had and needed to be treated promptly. I go back to his office in 3 weeks , long enough to give the medicine time to start working. If the pain isnt better or worse by then he will explore other things(i.e. hernia) I hope this is it and I hope that this medicine works. I felt like such a baby I cried and cried before they done the test but I survived. Gagged on hima couple times but no upchucking! That test needs to be updated Is wear some man musta come up with that and that numbing spray, YUCKY!!! Anyways...I get to eat a very bland diet for awhile and rink lots of skim milk. Hope to feel like taking my 4 months pics tonight seeins how it was Wed.  Melissa

I sure hope you start feelng better. It sounds very painful. Your stats look good, I am starting at about the same place as you started(weight) I can't wait until I'm on the losers bench!  Hope your weekend is pain free! Debbie

Melissa,

I'm so sorry that the test was so difficult, but I'm glad that they found the ulcer and are treating it. I hope that it resolves the issues you've been suffering.

Keep us updated,

Barb

Sorry you have an ulcer but sure glad they found (hopefully) the cause of all your pain.    Hope I never have to go through that test as it really sounds horrible. Take care, Pam

Thanks Pam. I think the thought of the test is worse than the actual test. Luckily for me I had to Christian nurses who prayed with me right before and they were so nice and calm. It is something I dont wish on my worst enemy and I hope not to have to do it again but I am glad they found the ulcer and I can hold off on hernia surgery a little longer. Melissa
