Question for Dr. Bauman's patients

My surgery date is July 10th and my question is did you spend 2 over nights in the hospital or did you spend additional time in the hospital.  Also, does the type of surgery you have depends on your stay?  I'm getting nervous and worried about all the "what ifs."  Thanks for your help.

Your in good hands.  Dr. Bauman is wonderful.  I have interviewed with many doctors before I made my decision.  What he does and how he goes about is above them all.  I had the "fobi pouch" done and I stayed two nights in the hospital.  He did require that I stay in town a night before and the week after.  I had no problem doing that.   I personally feel that there is what ifs about everything we do.  I believe that if I have complications God is on my side, and whatever God wants for me will happen. Good Luck on your surgery and this journey.  I pray everything goes well!

I have the Lapband with Dr.Bauman.  He did it outpatient, I was only there for about 6 hours.  He says he likes all banders to be outpatient if possible.  They will tell you all this at your pre-op.  Good Luck! Nancy

Most RNY patients of Drs. Bauman and Pirrello stay 2 nights, and most of their lap band patients are done as outpatients.  It is individualized, however, and dependent on how well you recover.

Dena's got the "inside skinny" on the timing.  Since it's a revision, tho, that may impact the timing.  The office should be able to give you a feel for it all. Don't forget, all us Bauman/Pirrello patients re here to give you a hand if you need it.  Good luck!
