How much is your out of pocket?  Once you meet your yearly out of pocket your insurance should then start paying at 100%  I'm sorry you had to pay so much in your testing but it makes you closer to you out of pocket. I myself only had a 350 deductible and then my insurance pays 90 percent.  I was asked to pay 500 up front for the doctor and 100 to the hospital.  It has been almost 4 weeks and I haven't heard back from my insurance yet so I don't know if I will owe more.  I dont think I will.  My out of pocket is 2000.00 This surgery with the preop testing has me only half way to the 100%.  My root canal cost me more then my surgery!

I have B/C B/S through my employer but it is a NH policy as our home office is in Boston.  I have a $400 deductible but when all was said and done, i only had to pay about $600 out of pocket.  One thing you will want to ck is on your EOB bcbs has contract prices with docs and providers.   For instance, sometimes the provider will bill 1000 but they have a contract with the facility for 600 and they pay 400.  Instead of owing 600, you would only owe 200.   Make sure you check the EOB before you go ahead and pay it as you will have other people owing you money all over the place. Good luck, Pam
