It's almost here!

This is my first post -- I've been lurking forever, but I figured it was high time to finally introduce myself.  I have surgery on Friday at PCMH! I am SO excited, not really scared or nervous at all, although I expect that might set in some tomorrow night and especially Friday morning.  But mostly I can't wait to be on the other side.  I can't even imagine what it's going to be like! I look forward to getting to know all of you here. I saw the plans for the Greenville area meetup on the 27th, and I'm going to try to make it.  Mel

Hi Mel: Congrats on your upcoming surgery. Just remember we are here for you if you need support and words. The beginning can be tough as you are having major surgery and going through major changes but it gets eaier day by day. Not wanting to scare you. It has been the absolute best thing I have done for myself and I would do it again if I had to. Lisa

Congrats!!! Just remember, the first few days WILL BE ROUGH and no matter how much you prepare, you never are TOTALLY prepared for what is to come- HOWEVER; with that said, you will NOT REGRET IT in the long run. It will be the best decision you ever made and in a month or two or six from now you will think back and be like "it was hard, but SOOOOOOOOOOO worth it." Dr. Mac was my surgeon also and I trust him completely. You will be in good, knowledgable hands.  I'm so happy for you and wish you nothing but good luck on your adventure. I'm also tickled to see you hope to make it to the Greenville OH Meet-up in July. Congrats on your new journey in life Mel.  Everyone is right.. trying to anticipate or expect what it is going to be like might just lead to frustration.  You should be excited .. but I know that the nerves will set in at some point.  Please keep us posted and welcome to the loser's bench!  It is a journey you will NOT regret!
