FINALLY!  Today it doesn't hurt to drink.  I can finally drink.  I am able to eat better today.  Everytime I was drinking or eating my stomach would have a weird pain.  Not sharp just very uncomfortable.  I am doing so good on getting my fluids in!! YEAH  I am so happy.  Finally I feel normal and all together I have lost 35 pounds!

I wondered if I was the only one who felt that weirdness when I drank something....Congrats on the 35 pounds!  I have lost 36, but 13 of that was before surgery!

Hi ewbass. Congrats on your loss! Dr. Bauman is my surgeon too. I have a one more test to complete and then everything can be sent to my insurance company. I'm hoping to have surgery in September, if I'm approved. I was just wondering if he required a liquid diet before your surgery, and if so, for how long? BTW, I think he's great!

I agree that he is great.  My pre-op went very quick.  I had all my test done before my initial appointment.  My insurance approved the same day.  He didnt require me to do a pre op liquid diet.  You have to star****ching what you eat and you can't gain any weight.  If you gain any weight pre-op he will cancel your appointment.  The morning of my surgery they took me back first to the scales.  They told me if he comes in and finds that I have gained weight I would be going home.  Thank God I hadn't!  Then I was on a liquid diet for two weeks after.  Now I am on soft foods for three weeks.  I have two weeks left.  My 4 week follow up is next week.  It is a great journey.  I don't regret it.  It does take work.  Good luck on getting your approval.  Just make sure that if you don't get an approval the first time dont give up!
