How long did it take you to get insurance approval?
Mine is BCBS fed of NC. My BMI ....I think was 49 so the boarderline was not an issue. I had High BP and bad knees. I had to show my weight for the past 5 years also. I you have other co-morbidities like apnea it is suppose to help with the approval. I am sure your Dr. knows how to make it work. Good Luck

The waiting is the hardest part, and it seems like it takes forever whether it's less than 24 hours or more than a month!
I went through 2 denials and 1 failed appeal with one insurance company, changed insurance companies and then went through another 2 denials and 1 failed appeal I think it was before finally getting approval. When I finally got the official yes, I think the time from it being submitted to the yes was probably only a couple of days. The whole process took months to go through, unfortunately.
Best wishes to you! I am switching from Cigna to Medcost the next open enrollment because we are now part of Carolinas Health Care System and that's their insurance. I hear that Medcost pays for plastic surgery for WLS patients ... and I'm hoping that's true because Cigna does not!
