I have A Surgery Date!

It was a very difficult decision for me and I went back and forth with it.  Because the rny has a higher success rate in coming off medication for my type 2 diabetes,  Dr. Pender and I felt that it would be the best route to go.

I guess this makes us surgery sisters. I can't wait til 8-8-8. Mine pre-surgery diet is the stage one of the Adkins diet.  I'm so excited, maybe we can walk the halls together. - Iris

Congratulations, we are moving over on the bench for you.  I had Dr. Pender and I love his work and his bed side manner gets better.  Just make sure you do what he says.  I had no problem with the two weeks before doing optifast the two weeks after is when you really get tired of that stuff.  Good Luck and keep us posted. Thanks LIsa.  I feel motivated right now and know I'll get through the liquid diet before the surgery but I see your point where after the surgery, you get sick of the stuff.  It will definately be different when you are used to food being the focus point of everything you do.
