Once Upon A Mattress

Morning all!      My insanely gorgeous husband and I went downtown yesterday to purchase a new mattress. Found a beautiful Sealy Posturpedic set. Browsed a bit more and went to check out.       I put the purchase on my Mastercard. She asked for my driver's license to confirm it was me.      Well, she did a double-take, which kinda caught me off guard, then she says "WOW! What happened to you?" Took me a minute to realize what she meant.       My DL photo was taken 2 1/2 years ago when we moved her and the picture is HORRIFYING, I tell you! Looks like my multitude of chins is resting on the upper part of my chest. No neck to be seen. Uuuugh!! My head looks like something that is mounted on the wall in a log cabin.  I myself had to say "WOW." I told her my story. (Yes, she asked. LOL)      Turns out that the manager lady, Marlene, who sold us the set has a daughter who is having her WLS in July.       May have been a dismal, rainy day here on the coast but I had a little ray of sunshine. Thank you nice furniture store ladies!!! Mare

I know what you mean. My dl runs out on my bday next yr which will almost be a year from surgery so I cant wait to get my new pic on it. For once maybe I will look forward to having my dl pic taken!  Congrats on the public WOW Melissa

Mare,  remember all our  doubts, disapointemts, fears, and heart aches. Remember our fear on no approval from INS.  no ins,  .....wait, wait , wait,   Will I ever get this surgery!  We did it mare....we are loosers and it shows. We have overcome hernias, money, insurance, doubting friends. We have overcome unsure family members, test, and time it self. Now we are reaping the benefits of control over our body.  People can see our progress and we can feel it. Congratulations on a job well done. Mare is a looser and a winner. Best Wishes Myrtis

HEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY.  I thought this was going to be rated R but instead it's rated F for fantastic Mare!   I fully understand your no neck issue.  Last winter I put on a  turtle neck pull  over and my choices were to either fold the neck double or pull it up to my nose.....  lol

Mare, Yesterday Lisa W was sharing some graduation photos with me.  I came upon one of a group of ladies and commented  " That lady looks kinda like Mare on the message board".  It was you!  It was a photo of your surprise party and boy what a transformation you have made!
