I am looking into buying a wii and wanted to know if I buy just the wii console to add wii fit do I buy the pad you stand on or is the wii fit a complete seperate unit from a regular wii console? Any advice would be good. Looks like we are also going to have to buy a new TV so we can have the xbox on one TV and use the new one for the wii. I have a hard enough time figuring out all the remotes now LOL.                                     Annie

Annie, We just bought a Wii and yes you will need to buy Wii Fit separately. Please start looking now and be prepared to buy IMMEDIATELY if you see one. It took me about 3 weeks to finally find one after calling several places here in town. I had heard Raleigh Best Buy was out a whle back too. I had no idea they were still so popular, but apparently they are.  Wii Fit is the same-- they can't keep those on the shelves! Our friends got one, but they had preordered it. Just keep a check and call every day if you have to. The Wii Console, with one controller, costs about $250.00  I think Wii Fit is about $90. We just have the Wii Console and Mario Party. You also get a Wii game with the console that has bowling and some other sports related things.  We played with our friends on theirs a couple times and had talked about it, but after they brought their Wii Fit to the house on Memorial Day we were sold. It's a way we can exercise and have fun!  We still don't have the Wii Fit yet though b/c James couldn't really do it yet. We had fun playing Mario Party though! *hehe* (I haven't really played a game like that since I was in high school-- I had the original Nintendo. :)  Anyway, good luck in getting your Wii! I think you will enjoy it!

Hi Mindy, Thxs for the info. lee and I have always been into gaming since we first met. I buy lots of things online especially ebay. Sooo before I take the plunge on buying a wii I better consult with my better half. As far as adding on things like wii fit we can do that at different pay periods. Tell James not to worry he will soon be a wii pro in all the sport games. BTW has a desision about Saturday been made yet?                                     Annie

I think you buy the base unit and then you get the various add-ons. The Wii Fit has the pad you stand on and all the other things that work with its software. The basic unit has a few games and a controller. You can get other add ons like a tennis racket and tennis game or a golf game and so on. I really want to get a Wii Fit but I don't have the Wii yet. I have an XBox that I won just before Christmas last year but I don't like any of the games it has. I can't find any games that I would enjoy on it. But the Wii has bowling and tennis and stuff I like to do.

Yes the wii fit game bundle with the fit board is spearate ($90) than the wii console itself ( $250 new if you can find one). If you buy on ebay you will prbably wind up paying over $300 + shipping. I was able to pre order my wii fit and it definately makes exercise more fun but not sure Im happy I spent $90 on it. Because the games/exercises on it are so slow really, that you cant really work up a good sweat, but there is a game where you put the remote in your pocket and kind of jog in place while yur little Mii runs all over the Wii Fit island, so that can definately get your heart a pumping if you work it right. Also it wont really give you a "routine" or tell you the best order to do them in for maximum benefit. But having said that, its a lot cheaper than a gym membership and you can do it in your own home, and if it gets you up off the couch its worth it. Try Craig's List too. My friend found a used console that works perfect and got an extra game and controller for $275. Cant hurt.  It comes with bowling, golf, tennis, baseball and boxing. the boxing will really get your heart rate going!  Other fun games for the system are Mario Kart Wii, Wario Ware, Smooth Moves and Im addicted to Guitar Hero!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info. I have a mini gym in my house that I do my workouts in twice a day. My husband and I are into gaming big time. As for Guitar Hero my husbands best friend comes over with his guitar and they have jam sessions with the GH on xbox. BTW I love your name our friend Matt is from the UK and loves the Fab4.                                           Annie
