pacemaker and my mom

Yesterday came and went but mother did not have the pacemaker put in. Mother had an open wound on her leg and the doctor refused to put the pacemaker in with an open wound on her leg. It was a hectic day and lots of phone calls and rearranging her caregivers schedules. On the brightside it is a nice cool morning and I finally got to take the bulldogs on a walk. I havent been able to walk them because of the heat and humidity. English bulldogs can die very fast from heat exhustion so I have to always be careful of that. I am noticing a pulling feeling in my lower left abdomen not really painful but I am aware of it. I am going to call my surgeon if it gets worse. I would like to think I pulled something while dressing my mom yesterday and transporting her from the bed to her wheelchair.                                  Annie

I am sorry your mom has to wait for her pacemaker. I hope her wound gets healed quickly so she can get her surgery and begin to feel better soon. I bet the dogs enjoyed their walk. Ann

I am sorry things didn't work out as planned for yesterday, but it probably was the best decision to lower the risk of infection.  Please keep us posted on how she is doing. I hope your pain gets better. If it doesn't, please call your doctor!!!

Feeling better since I workout. Zenny Bird is not making me very happy right now he loves Fage yogurt with fresh fruit so between fighting him off my bowl and typing GRRRR. Dead weight is very hard to deal with. It is funny mother never lets them weigh her and always says 180 well that weight changed to 185 yesterday LOL Yeah Right Sure she is not 185 and I could only wish I was LOL                                      Annie

Annie, All that stress, just to put it off for another day, huh?  Well, hopefully her leg heals up quickly so she can get the pacemaker. I wouldn't doubt it if you did pull something helping move her around.  Take it easy and call the Dr if it doesn't get better.  I'm looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!

I'm sorry to hear that your mom has an open wound and of course while it's disappointing to have to reschedule, I'm sure that she her dr's are being appropriately cautious.

Please be ever so careful about helping your mom to transfer; it can be really dangerous and you don't want to hurt yourself so that you can't exercise.

I hope to hear that your mother's health has improved and that your discomfort has been cured.
