What a week (long)
I was kinda hoping to vent and get some encouragement I think. My story for this week is as follows. As some of you may recall last week I told that my 3 kids spent the week at their grandmas' , well this week I had to come stay at my mother -in- laws and take my son to baseball camp in Greensboro. I left home on Sunday only to be met with this horrible traffic jam just on the outside of Raliegh. UGGGG I get thru that and come on up the road. Well I didnt feel well last week while the kids were gone but I chalked it up to bloating and what not(due to mother nature). I even lost 12 lbs in the last week due to not being able to eat. Sunday night it (the pain)worsened. I took my son to basbeball camp on Monday am and on the way my car overheats but I dealt with it. I get there and while standing inside in the nice cold ac I break out in a sweat! I'm shaking and sweating(real atractive to the baseball players, I assure you!)So I limp my car back to my mo- in laws and the pain in my stomach is horrific. I call my doc back in Wilmington and they tell me "Go to the ER NOW!" So I rush to Moses Cone in GSO cuz I figure they know more than the docs in Reidsville. Well I rushed over there but they sure didnt rush when I got there
. Ok so then I have told them that I havent been able to eat or drink hardly anything for a week and I feel like I could hurl at any moment and what do they do?!?! They bring me 2 (TWO) 16 oz cups of water to drink. Cat scan is in the works. OMG I didnt think I would ever get all that down. So in the 2 hrs it took me I overheard some delightful conversations in the ER. Some ppl ! Anyways Then I get banished to the hallway and I am on this gurney right by the door that EMS uses. Everyone staring at me in my gown and flip flops! Door opening every 2 secs with ppl coming in on stretchers (even a gunshot to the back of the head) Can't tell you what that did for my nasuea. So finally after checking in at 12:18 at 4:30 I have my cat scan. 30 mins later the doc comes and tells me Welllllllll I really dont know why you are hurting. I can admit you and we can have more docs come in an push and probe and test to see what we can find or I can send you back home to rest and take with some pain meds and something to make me not want to hurl. And see my doc when Iget back to Wilmington. I chose the latter and finally left around 7 pm. So I really dont know anything other than I may have some intestines in my hernia and I may have some gall stones(Gall bladder was removed in 2005) in my liver. I have been in alot of pain and pretty much living on hydrocodone and reglan. I see my doc next Tues. If it isnt too much to ask please keep me in your thoughts. I have had enough of this pain and really hope that it is something cureable without surgery. Sorry it was so long I usually try to be short and sweet but this took more to tell. I am still at my in laws and will be going home on Thursday Lord willing and the creek doesnt rise. Oh and my car doesnt do something worse. (was a water pump being fixed today).
Full of pain and misery this week
Melissa

Oh no! I certainly hope you can figure out what is wrong. Hopefully your regular doc or surgeon can figure it out ASAP. I'll definitely keep you in my prayers... I'm so sorry you are going through this!
Be careful on your drive home!

It's a BOY!
I am so glad you are going to your surgeon. So many doctors don't even know what to look for when it comes to patients who have had WLS. Even my family doctor has admitted to his poor knowledge of this. I hope everything works out for you. Please keep us all posted. Hope you are soon better and pain free. Donna
Melissa,
I'm so sorry that you've had such a hard time and I hope that you start to feel better soon. I'm glad you'll be seeing your Dr. soon.
Wishing you a speedy and gentle recovery,
Barb
