Angie,
I know that this part of the journey is so hard, but you need to hang in there. My program makes you stay on full liquids for 3.5 weeks and I nearly went crazy. That said, try the popcicles if you need something to chew. The other possibility that they allowed us was sugar free gum. We were warned against chewing and spitting out because in some cases it can cause people to develop eating disorders and that wasn't something that I wanted to risk.
This truly is the hardest part of the journey, but it is for a finite period of time and I know that you can do it. Keep your eye on the prize. If you don't have it already, try creating a list of all the advantages of losing the weight ... they can be the improvement in health, looks, self-esteem, and quality of life issues ... You can even work on growing that list as you look at it. There is a thing here on OH called goals. You can leverage from that if you want. What I'm saying is focus on the benefits as you work through the pain. It will be soooooooo worth it, because in a year from now you will be where I am.
You can do this!

Hey Hunni!! I told you that this was going to be hard. I'd try some S/F gum and spit it out. I am with Barb, chewing food and then spitting it out can sometimes result in something bad. Just hang in there. I promise it does get a lot better. Just tough it out. You can do it. I now you can. Whenever you feel the need to chew, try walking or reading, and get your mind off of it. Trust me, it was the hardest ever, but you will get through this and you will be glad that you stuck it out. Love u girlie, Danielle
