Well guys it has been a rough ride here lately.  My son received his Eagle Scout, he graduated, we have college orientation this weekend and my business just kicked into high gear for the summer.  I run a plaster craft shop for kids and the summer is my crazy time. To top it all off, I have come down with Shingles.  I have not been doing well with my eating and have gained about 3lbs.  I need to pull myself together guys.  Need support.  I have not had time to exercise.  How do you fit it in? Thanks, Barbara

Wow!  It sounds like you have a full load!  You need to keep healthy though to be able to keep up with it all.  Your health (including what you're eating and exercise) has to be priority #1.  I don't have your kind of responsibilities, but I do have some crazy busy days from time to time.  Today was one of them.  I know when I have busy times coming up that I have to get my workout in the morning.  Otherwise, I'll be too tired at the end of the day to mess with it.  You need to find the time that works best for you.

Hi Barbara,

I know how you feel. My daughter just had major surgery and is in the midst of significant physical therapy to recuperate, my mother is with me now and is ailing ... this week I have multiple medical appointments every single day of the week, I raise a rare breed of dog and have to keep up with and take care of 10 small, long-haired dogs and the mess they make in my house and I'm fighting with my own kidney stones. I know how easy it can be to put myself at the back of the bus because I just get tired, but I've come too far to quit now. You and I need to make our own health a priority or we won't be able to do all that we do for everyone else. Maybe it means getting up 15 mins earlier to make time for a short walk and to log your food intake... Maybe it means making sure that you have some easy, but good food choices available to manage those meals on the run.

I know that you are incredibly busy, but you are worth it and you know it ... that's why you are here. MAKE the time; it's criticallly important.

Hugs,

Barb

P.S. I'm so sorry that you are dealing with shingles ... is there something that the Dr. can do to ease the pain of it?

Im sorry you are suffering with Shingles, my mom suffers from Shingle attacks and I know how painful they are. Try to get back on track with your eating and drink lots of liquids, I wish you the best of luck getting through the summer crazy time

Hi Barbara, Yes it sure sounds like you are overwhelmed!  Try to break things down into manageable units instead of looking at the whole picture.  That helps me to deal with problems.  Prioritize your health and well being first, as others have mentioned.  Stop beating yourself up and start making decisions that reflect self-love and start acting on them.  And get back to basics!  Do the things that worked for you at the beginning.  If you need to go on a full-liquid diet for 4 or 5 days do it!  If you need to cut down on carbs, do that!  Take action!  Do what works! LOL  Ok that is my pep talk.  The rest is up to you!  Good luck and keep us posted!

Guys, Thank you so much for the pep talk, I needed that.  I called and made an appointment with a therapist today.  I feel like I need to talk with someone regarding myself.  I need to find out why I sabatoge myself and put so much pressure on myself. I will definitely get to the root of this and succeed with this journey.  I have come to far. Barbara
