Barbara, I have never been to a meeting and I really don't know much about what goes on, but with so many people there, I'm sure I will be forgetting names as soon as I hear them.  How would everyone feel about wearing name tags?  I can pick some up before the meeting if everyone is agreeable to that.  I had even thought it might be nice if everyone would put their surgery type or if they are pre or post op on them.  What do you think?
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

Barb brings some to every meetup :-) Err.. if my parents weren't leaving from RDU right before the meeting, I'd offer you a ride..

Thanks Andrea.  I was nervous about so many new names and faces coming at me at one time...lol Thanks for the offer of a ride.  I think after the meeting I'm going to stop by to see the new grandson for a while.

Donna, We are like a big happy family and you will feel the warmth from everyone. With so many people I always worry my chair sticking out so the waitress cant get by. Crazy I know but some things just linger in my head. I also hesitate to this day about stepping up and down on curbs. I have to tell myself YOU CAN DO THIS NOW. It will be great to meet you. Dont worry be happy.                                        Annie

Hi Donna,

As Andrea said, I always bring name tags. We have so many people that come and not everyone is able to really spend time with everyone else, so it takes a while for us to all to get to match up names. Also, there are folks on that come to meetup that don't post here on OH. I normally put the follinwg info Name, Program, Surgery type/date, this way people that have questions about my surgery type or program will know what I had.

I bring a bunch of nametags and pens and spread them up and down the tables so that everyone can put one on if they want. I also bring before photos, as do many other people. While there are some who have been on this journey with me for a while and know what I used to look like, the photos helps those who have never seen me heavy actually see the 'difference.'

Great minds think alike!

I look forward to meeting you Saturday.

Barb, Put me and James down as maybes. I haven't RSVP yet or if I did it was no, as I figured I'd be helping him. He just told me he might feel up for the ride. I'll let you know for sure on Friday. I'd love to see everyone!
