Out of the hospital for the ? many times....
That is terrible when you have had so many surgeries since your Gastric Bypass that you can't even count!! :) I smile, because I finally can. It has been 8 months for me since my surgery at Duke. But, one hell of a ride that has taken me to the very lows to the very top. I have never encountered such kindness and just amazing humanity that you all have shown me over these months.
Just so that you know...my gastric bypass was a complete success. It was my body that rejected it and has caused me so many complications. The last month in the hospital was not because of the Gastric Bypass. It was a rare thing that people get......Sphincter of Oddi. Well, what makes it more rare is that fact that no one at one of the hospitals had ever encountered someone like me. It took going to big Duke to have a Dr. who has only done a few times on a Gastric Bypass patient to do it. He cured me....my Bypass Doc had to do the dirty work and that was to go through the old stomach to get to those nasty bile ducts. He had to go through muscles and I swear that I have never felt that much pain that I did for that first few days. But, you know...I am almost 2 weeks out and I can get around and do small things with the kids and my hubby. But, I am home!! I am getting well and for the love of God if I ever see the hospital again...well, we are not even going to talk about that now are we?!
I am 90 lbs down. and looking forward to enjoying it and getting my strength back every day. I haven't been able to drive yet because I have been so weak and having a terrible time with Low Blood Pressure. But, that is ok....because there is progress and as Dorothy said "there is no place like home"
Best to all!!
Caroline
I'm glad you're doing better, and yes.... There is no place like home! I have had 3 surgeries in the past 5 years (the first was my WLS) but I've been lucky, 2 of my surgeries were done by my WLS doc and the other had experience with WLS.
I wish you a quick recovery and continued good health!!!

I am glad to see you over here and posting. You know we are here for you and are and have been concerned for you. I have been keeping informed via your care page as well. I am so glad that you are seeing some light here as of late. I know that you could not have forseen that your body would react as it has. I hope like Suzanne has said that this is it and you are on your way to good health.

Welcome home Caroline! So glad that you're out of the hospital and it sounds like things are looking up for you now. Yeah!!! 90 pounds gone? That is fabulous? Once you're feeling better, you're going to have to update your pictures, because I'm sure it's a dramatic change with those latest 30 pounds gone! :)
