Melissa, Surgery was over before I even realized.  The last thing I remember is the nurse saying it was time to go to sleep.  My back is getting better, too.  I appreciate the concern.  It was awful, but now I can get out of chair on my own again!  Let me know if you have any questions. Amanda

Glad things went well and that you are feeling good. Did you have lapband or RNY? good luck in the recovery and don't go back to work too fast.

Mindy, I had the realize band put in.  So far so good.  My port incision is still bothering me quite a bit, but they say it takes the longest to heal.  As far as work goes, I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.  I probably won't go back full force until the week after next, but there are reports, etc.  I can get done from home which will help save some of my sick leave.  I guess I'll see how I feel Sunday.  Have a good weekend! Shelli, There isn't a huge difference between the Realize band and the Lapband.  The Realize band is a little bigger, I think, and only comes in one size.  Whereas, the Lapband offers differents sizes (meaning how many cc's of saline it holds).  Also the port of the Realize band is attached differently.  My doctor didn't think he was going to have a preference, but he said he's leaning toward to Realize because it's less likely that the port will move alot or flip over because of the way it's "installed.''   I do take other meds.  I take a nasal spray for allergies, so that hasn't changed.  I also take a birth control pill.  The nurse at the hospital told me to cru**** if my pharmacist said it was okay (which he did), but I'm going to take them and my zyrtec (also for allergies) to my post-op next week and ask specifically if I can swallow them whole.  Supposedly anything smaller than a baby aspirin is okay to swallow. Good luck with your journey! Amanda
