(((((Meagan))))),

I know it's hard now, but I promise, I does get better, much better. If you are really concerned about the pain being abnormal, contact your Dr's office. We all react somewhat differently, but please know that this too shall pass and like childbirth it will fade with time and the benefits will outweigh the difficulty you are now experiencing. Also know that it will get better. You have really riden through the worst and it does get better. I had what I called my '10 day meltdown' about at this point in my own journey. Hang in there kiddo.

Hugs,

Barb

P.S. That bad taste in your mouth is from ketosis and it will go away with time.

Meagan, you mentioned a huge bruise.  My whole belly was bruised and I had terrible pain/burning/itching for several days. check out my post-op pics for a pic of the bruising.   Some of us bruise but most don't.  Hang in there and it will get better very soon.  BUT, if you are in a lot of pain, keep calling your doctor's office.  They may need to see you in the office.   Alice

Meagan, I am sorry that you are feeling bad but I promise it does get better.  Like you I was very sore the second and third weeks were the hardest for me but by the fourth week I felt alot better.  You are not alone in wondering about you decision I think alot of us in the beginning wonder that but just remember that each day will get better.  I am 1 month out and I feel really good and can tell a big difference in how I feel.  So don't be discourgaed and keep your chin up everything will be fine. I am so sorry you are in pain. I had the same pain in the hospital and the only time it would not hurt was when I was laying still, i actually cried everytime I moved the wrong way and my doctor told me that the left side where it was hurting was where they put the biggest staple and yes at 10 days out it still hurt.. I PROMISE YOU it WILL get better! mine hurt for about 6 weeks but every week the pain went down more and more.. hang in their sweetie!!

Meagan I'm sorry you're having such pain!  I'm almost 6 years PO but I remember my pain, it was nothing like this.  I would call the doc's office again since the weekend is here and they won't be there.  I remember it hurting but mine was tollerable.  I had a hard time sleeping because I was used to sleeping on my side but other than that it wasn't too bad.  I had mine lathroscopic but had a hysterectomy 2 years ago that was an open incision and that didn't hurt like you descripe either.  I hope it gets better for you soon! Keep us posted!

I am SO SORRY to hear you are hurting. I know how it feels and it is NOT fun! I didn't have the bruising per say, but I did have this tingling/burning sensation about 10 - 14 days out (well BELOW my incisions). It lasted about 5 days and went away. Have you tried a heating pad? It may help some with the pain. Again, I'm so sorry you are hurting, but just like the others have said, IT DOES GET BETTER! I know it's hard to see it now, but it does and you WILL be glad you went through with it. Go look at my profile and read what I was thinking about 2-3 weeks out. I was feeling the SAME things you are feeling. Keep us posted on how things are going...
