I have been very curious about "the fills" for banders and this girl had a very brave friend video tape it for our viewing pleasure...with a brief pause for some comic relief. **Not for the "needle squeamish."** http://bandstergal.blogspot.com/

I had been curious about the same thing! Neat video. Glad I don't have to go through with that though....

That was wild. Thats one of the reasons I didnt want to get the band . Fills not to fun. Heck non of this is fun. I think she's great for doing this. We all need to know what to expect from our choices.

Gross!  Utterly gross!  I love my RNY!!  (yeah right, Suzanne, getting your guts rearranged and your stomach chopped off and left hanging is not gross...)

I don't want to sound negitive about the band, but I have heard of folks not doing as well as the RNY'ers.  I am a cheater (  no not that kind of cheater, I love my hubby ) .... I need the full blown , no return , guts moved around .... throw up momma etc.... the RNY is for me .  Again - hats off to the folks that have been a success with the band,  I think it is great how ever or whatever works for you.  I love my RNY and would not be happy about having " fill ins" . Good day losers

You definitely have to have some discipline/control for lapband!  I've lost 74 pounds in 4 1/2 months with the band.  I think that is pretty good for a bander!LOL  My fills are nothing like the video showed.  They give me a little shot of lidocaine to numb the skin, but none of the fishing around for the port like they showed in the video.  He just sticks another needle in and injects the fluid.  Nothing to it!  I like the fact that with lapband we can always be adjusted.  If we(lapbanders) start to gain weight or stop losing weight, we can always go in for an adjustment and it's like we've had the surgery all over again with just a little poke!  Be blessed! I am glad I chose to have RNY. I know I wouldn't want to deal with the fill process and after seeing this video I only confirmed it.

Hey Mare... Thanks for showing us...i have always wondered what a fill was and why it was done and that helped explain it.    Take care, Pam

Well I guess I am the odd ball here. haha.... I love my band....it's been great for me. Everyone is different. I LOVE that it's adjustable.....if there was one perfect surgery out there, then there would only be one but there are so many and they are growing by leaps and bounds.

For me personally the fills aren't bad....each surgeon is different like she stated. I say she is very brave to let someone record it while she was having it done. Not me. haha.... Hats off to all your RNY'ers, hubby didn't support me on that I needed his support so I have been successful w/ my band. :-)  We are all the same in that we all have/had weight problems!!!!!! So no matter what surgery we all the same on the inside. :-)
