Newby and need support

I just mailed my packet in yesterday and have appointments with the psychologist and dietician tomorrow.  Things are moving faster than I thought they would.  I'm having surgery at UNC Chapel Hill and my surgeon is Dr. Timothy Farrell.  Did anyone else have Dr. Farrell?  How was your experience?

wow that is fast welcome im a  newbie myself. you have come to a wonderful place to receive helpful hints, suggestions and lots of love. is so nice talking to people who you know arent going to judge you because of your weight and you know everyone is or has gone thru what you are going thru. keep us posted on yourappts im in greenville but im sure you are in the best of hands take care

Welcome!! You will find the best people on the planet here. I am 61/2 weeks post op. I love it. I have lost 47 punds since surgery. I feel like a brand new person. Congrats to you on taking the first step. Danielle

I cannot help you with doc advice, but I can say that you are most welcome here at the NC board and hope that you will keep us posted on your progress.  Please feel free to ask questions when needed and come here often.  We think it is the best darn support board on the net!

I went yesterday for my psyc and dietician evaluation.  Both said I was an excellent candidate for the surgery.  I'm planning on having laproscopic gastric bypass.  Now I just wait for a call from the nurse with an appointment with the doctor. 

Just got a call from the bariatric nurse - first appointment with a doctor for June 30th.  WoW!!!
