Thanks for everything... we hope to go home today!

Well it has been a ride so far, but we are hoping to get home today. As Danielle said, we got a room about 3:30pm yesterday (21 hours AFTER surgery). James was glad to get up and walking-- he couldn't really do that in PACU.  He felt really bad pain yesterday, better last night and then really bad again this morning. I don't think they stay on top of his pain meds and that is BAD. He took another dose of lovely Loratab this morning and walked and is now resting. He woke up a bit ago and said he was feeling "a LOT" better. :) It hurts me so much to know he is pain and there is nothing I can do. I keep telling him it will get better. I saw Angie's family and she is doing well but still in recovery. Surgery went well with no problems and was sitting up in PACU for 4 hours. I hope (as I know her family does) that she gets a room today. If things go well, she should go home tomorrow since her surgery was yest. That's the update from PCMH. There are TONS of people up here having GOP surgery. I have recommended to a couple of their families for them to join us here, but we'll see. It's amazing how people people are having this surgery. I would say at least 5-7 every day probably! I'll update again soon. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. We really appreciate it. Love, Melinda (and James)

Hi Mindy: Congrats to James. At least he has you to help him through this and he kind of knows what to expect although everyone's journey is different. But, it's not like he is going into it blind so to speak. Y'all will be quite the pair when you both are more fit and healthy. I know you're well on your way and have made lots of progress. The world is your oyster and there won't be anything that y'all can't do now. Isn't life grand? Lisa

Glad James is looking at heading home (if you haven't already). Remember, I'll be in town on Thursday to see Jennifer Elias over at Physicians East.  The appt. is at 1:30.. will need time to take munchkin #1 over to playdate beforehand, too. Lemme know if you're still interested in meeting up either before or after.

Hi Melinda,

I'm so sorry to hear that James has been having such a difficult time with his recovery. I'm sure that you will both be more comfortable once you are able to get home.

Please give James my warmest regards and welcome him to the "Loser's Bench."
