NC LARGEST AIR SHOW

If any of you are looking for something to do this weekend, I just wanted to let y'all know that
Cherry Point, Marine Corps Air Station, here in Havelock, is putting on their air show!! It is North Carolina's Largest Air Show and Admission and parking is FREE!!!!!
They are having the night show tomorrow night (FRIDAY) gates open at 5pm and the show starts at twilight, followed by fireworks!! The show iS AWESOME!!!! And Saturday and Sunday the gates open at 9am I believe!! We have gone every year they have put it on for the past 9 or 10 years and it has been an amazing show each time!! The BLUE ANGELS will also be here this year, they were not last year, due to the pilot crashing in South Carolina :( It is supposed to be VERY HOT, so if anyone does come, please come prepared with bottled water and sunscreen!! But it is sure to be LOTS of fun!! And if your going to be in this area, let me know and maybe we can meet up :) We will be there and if not, we live right on base!!

This is an awesome show. I use to go when I lived in Newport. Girl, you are looking awesome!!!! Keep up the good work!! I only have 3 days until my big day!! I am getting so nervous!!!

Hey Angie!! I totally forgot you said that you lived in NEwport :) Thanks so much for the compliment...I feel awesome, I know that for sure!! I still have a LONG way to go, but for the first 3 months, I definately can't complain!!!  I CANNOT believe you only have 3 more days...you are about to be in for the ride of your life!! I am soooo excited for you and wish you the best of luck through your journey and just know that you are not alone and we are all here for you!!! You will do GREAT!!!!

I wish I could go but as usual I'm working... ugh!  But I am glad it's on Cherry Point and not over here...  New River Air Station (we dispatch for them also), it was busy enough when it was here last month!  Anyway, have fun...  Stay hydrated... and put sunscreen on!!!    - we don't want any of this!!!

hahaha I was going to post about this!!! hubby and I are HUGE air show fans and my dad used to take us when we were kids to watch the Blue Angels.. have seen them sooo many times I have lost count we are going tommorro and I was a bit dissapointed to see they wont let me bring my soft sided *lunch box* as I wanted to bring a bunch of Gatorade instead of being ripped off by the over priced airshow food. Other items not allowed: Pepper spray/mace. Stun guns, scissors, box cutters, throwing stars, nun-chucks, coolers, picnic bags/baskets, backpacks, duffle bags, umbrellas, briefcases, and large camera bags. You will be asked to return any of these items to your vehicle prior to entry.

Ok so Ill leave my throwing star in the car and shove my water in my purse LOL we just went to the air show in Wilmington a few weeks ago and they had no problems with backpacks or lunch boxes and I saved a lot of money on drinks brining my soft sided cooler but owell.. I feel bad for people who need to hide under a umbrella for shade as those are not allowed either.. Im definitely bringing my sun hat and sun screen.. I cant wait!!! if anyone wants to go from Jacksonville and wants to ride up with me and hubby let me know!! we will be there all day till the Blue Angels are done its going to be hot hot hot but I need to get some sun for my upcoming trip to Jamaica with hubby

I would love to see the Blue Angels.  Saw the Thunderbirds a couple of years ago and thought that was great, but I have heard the Angels' show is OUTSTANDING!   But, alas, I am a big time heat WUS!!!!!  Maybe after my wls when i rid myself of some of this personal insulation, I'll be able to tolerate the heat better.   Hope those of you who are going have a great time. Wait a minute....I DID go to Cherry Point about 10 years ago to see the show but it rained cats and dogs that day so all we got to do was walk around in the rain...no air show.
