Sad day, lost my Grandmother this morning

My 96 year old grandmother finally gave it up this morning at 12:20 am.  She has been such an influential person in my life and has lived next door to me for the past 13 years.  She was a retired school cafeteria manager and loved kids.  She always had a sweet smile for everyone she met and told everyone, even complete strangers that She Loved Them.  How truly blessed I was to have this remarkable woman in my life.  My mother was holding her hand as she took her last breath of life.  She is in a MUCH better place now and free of the pain that her old body was wrecked with .  Thanks for letting me share a little about my grandmother, Elizabeth Alice Gurganeous Rivenbark! Mine finally passed away on June 2nd at 12:30 am.... she waited till my mom and aunt had left before she left this world....the best part is they are both out of pain and in a much better place!!! my thoughts are with you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my Mammy when she was 96 and I had lived beside her for 32 years. I still miss her. I was blessed with two wonderful Mammies and I'd like to think that there is a special section in heaven reserved just for all our fabulous grandmothers - they've truly made us into the women that we are today. Alice,   I am so sorry for your lose. But know that she is in a much better place then this world could offer. Just remember all the good times whenever you feel down, and that will bring a smile to your face. After 6 years of losing my gran-gran, I still do that. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
