There are some foods that keep me hungry even after eating a normal portion.  Typically, these are high in carbs.  Of course, that's RNY and not band, but it should be about the same. But for the most part, you should be full with reasonable portions.

I am 3 1/2 months post op for RNY and I fill up very very fast.   And while i never knew i was full until i was stuffed, it is very easy to tell when full now.    I also know when i have head hunger as i just look to graze and remind myself i am not hungry..just bored or angry ..lol. Good luck! Pam

I am a RNY girl and chose it for that very reason,, I had heard, with the lap you still feel hungry and can cheat it, and I knew I would need the locked down tummy..... I can honestly say I am never really starving --- I eat my meals and need no more, sometime I do too much and it comes right back up.  Try drinking water it may curb that belly. Good Luck LOVE the puppy picture... what baby dolls  :)

What are you eating at 3 1/2 weeks out? I think I was still doing soups and stuff. I did notice when I was doing full liquids or soft foods, I felt like I was able to eat "too much." I didn't overeat because I could, but I was aware of the "not-quite-full" feeling. But once I moved on to solid foods, I got full real quick.       It will change. You'll see. Mare

I suggest you educate yourself about 'mindful eating'... you have to teach yourself how to get satisified from food and really enjoy eating it... you will also have to learn how your body is telling you its full and that will take time. I know we had different surgeries but it wasnt until about 6 months out when I could really truly tell I was satisified with what I ate. Also stomach rumbling is not a sign of hunger... stomachs can rumble for many reasons... if you are feeling light-headed you could be dehydrated and/or waiting too long to eat and your blood sugar is getting too low.
