I have my approval from BCBSNC!!!!!
And even better news is that with all the other things I have done to get prepared for surgery I have already met most of my total yearly out of pocket so I only had to give the surgeon's office less than 500 Dollars! The only problem we have now is spending the rest of our flex select money for this year (we doubled our usual amount for this year with the surgery in mind). But we will hang on to the surplus until we know for sure how it will go for my husband's knee. He may need surgery for that too but we won't know until he see's the ortho doc on Monday. Needless to say I am very excited and can't wait to get that other phone call with my appointments and surgery date!

Congratulations!! Will your insurance pay 100% of your hospital bill, too? That's what took up the majority of my flex account - paying the hospital deductible and co pay - about $1100.00. Of course you know something always comes along to take it when we think we have a little extra. My flex account even told me they would pay for my vitamins and calcium if I submitted a letter from the surgeon stating why it was medically necessary for me to take the vitamins from now on. Vitamins and calcium can be expensive, so keep that in mind. Oh yea, do you need eye exams and contacts and glasses - all reimbursable by a flex plan.
