Alamance,Chatham, Guilford, Randolph SUPPORT GROUPS???

Hello!  I had my RNY on December 18, 2007. I'm about 6 months out. I had it done in Wilmington and I had been attending suupport groups in Wilmington that were very helpful. However, 3 weeks ago, I moved to Siler City and I really want to get with another support group. I'm in close driving distance to Asheboro, Burlington, Greensboro, Cary/Apex, Sandford, etc. Does anyone out there know of any support groups that are open to people who had their surgery somewhere else? Thanks so much!!!!

There is one that meets monthly at the education center by Wesley Long hospital in Greensboro. The meeting this month is Thursday June 26th at 6 pm. This months meeting we will be trying bariatric friendly snacks and exchanging recipes. Everyone that wants to is to bring a favorite snack with the recipe of course. Everyone will taste them so make the portions very small of course. It seems to be a good group. I have only been able to go to one of the meetings so far but i will be there this month for sure.

Hi Laurie, UNC normally has a group on the 3rd tuesday of every month. I would suggest you contact Karen Coltan she is the bariatric nurse at UNC and organises the monthly meetings.
