WLS is something I've been tossing about for the past 4 years.   Well, finally, I've taken the first step.  I have turned in my paperwork, paid my fees, and I am waiting on a consult date from the surgeon....boy, I'm really nervous about this, but I am ready for this change in my life.   Sonya

Congrats!!!  The best thing you can do for yourself now would be to get into a support group.  You can find them at your surgeon's office or just keep an eye out on the NC forum here on OH for little get togethers in your area.  The support you get from those meetings make all the difference!!  You get to see that life is still normal after surgery, and you get to talk with people who have already had WLS and ask all the questions you want!  Best wishes to you! Hey....

My surgeon is going to be from Pinehurst bariatric, Dr. Mitchell or Dr. Washington.  I've heard great things about both of these doctors....

My sister (ewbass on here.. lives in Hamlet) and I both chose to go to Charlotte.  I have known several people around here who went to Mr. Mitchell.  I was VERY VERY pleased wtih my experience with Dr. K.  He even took out my gallbladder a few weeks ago.  Good luck... keep us posted.
