venting about a friend
Yesterday I had another monthly coffee with my friend Ruth.
She wanted to ask me how her color looked in her hair as she ran her fingers through it and tossed her hair around.
I told her it look very nice.
Then I said you know I am wearing a wig.
She said yes she knew that and I needed to learn how to wear it because she said it looked like it was sitting on top of my head.
All my friends and family that has seen me in my wig say it looks great and even the drug store lady did not know it was a wig.
So slowly I am trying to get comfortable with wearing it in public.
Personally I think it looks good.
I will post a pic later today so you all can see it.
So when I got home and was on the treadmill I was thinking about what Ruth said.
Trust me lots of cussing was going on while I was walking.
Then I had a thought Ruth said she had her hair done.
Who is she fooling not this girl because I know she cant fit in a chair in the salon!!!!
She said if she gains one more pound she is going to have surgery.
At this point I feel I might be wasting my time.
Maybe in some way I am helping her see that wls is a good thing too.
My hair is in horrible shape right now and the wig does help me feel better in public.
Annie
Annie, I think you friend is just jealous of your weight loss success but doesn't have the guts to make that decision for herself. I can't wait to see a pic of you in your wig; I bet you look MAAAARRRRRVELOUS BABY!

(((((Annie))))),
I hope that you'll realize that Ruth may be having a hard time with your success. She may not even really 'realize' what she is doing. Be happy with your progress and be comfortable with your hair ... whether you purchased it or grew it. If you haven't done so yet, be sure to take your wig to your hairdresser and have her trim and style it for you. When you get a wig it has a shape that is generic and you need to make it work 'just for you.'

When people are envious, they tend to talk out of their ass and not even realize it. She could be jealous of your courage to accomplish what you have done and how far you have come. It could be your courage in deciding to have this surgery. People are all just so different and she probably doesn't have a clue what she did to hurt you.
We are here for you my friend and also to be thrilled for all your accomplishments. Can't wait to see you in your new hair! And it is yours..you paid for it..lmao!
Take care,
Pam
