I am having another surgery tomorrow
I have not posted on this board in forever. I am sorry that I have missed out on so many people's lives. I am so looking forward getting back into the "real world". As some of you know, I have had complications off and on since my surgery in October.
This time, it is strange. I have a problem with my bile ducts. Instead of them being able to go through the throat. My bypass surgeon has to go into my stomach and the gastro surgeon comes in behind him and puts a tube all the way up to where my bile ducts are. It is called Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. How crazy is that? Anyway, the surgery is risky and there is a 30% chance of appendicitis. I will be be back at Duke (not durham regional) for the surgery which is at 1:30. I was given a weekend pass...they told me I could go home for the weekend and come back for the surgery. I could be in there for a couple of days or a few weeks. Please pray for the doctors, and me and no complications. Bigger than that is prayer for my husband and children. This has been so hard on them.
My husband put up a carepage for me (www.carepages.com) and under Visit, type in CarolineEllavsky. I think you have to sign up first which is a pain. But, I am writing to ask for prayers and good vibes.
I am looking forward to being healthy and back to going to meetings!!
Hope everyone is well!

Hi Caroline,
I am so glad you touched bases with us. I have thought of you often and knew you had had complications and wondered how you were doing. Hopefully this surgery will resolve the LAST of your complications and life will return to normal for you with a new healthy body that you can enjoy fully!
I will TRY to sign onto your support page. But please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers and ask your husband if he can let us know how you made out.
Lots of love,
