looking for duke wlc people from old forum
I'm trying to find people from the duke wlc forums that are no longer functioning. I wanted to check on the status on some of the others who have been waiting on dates and surgeries. I'm still waiting and I got insurance approval around April 18.
I had to go be re-evaluated last week and had to have a nicotine test. I got the results today and they said they were positive even tho i've not smoked for 5 weeks. So I have to go get another one done by my PCP and when I get a negative result fax it to them and they will get back with me. Anyone going thru anything similiar? I am sooooo frustrated, I've cried all day because the NP that called me was not very nice and didn't believe me when I told her I had not smoked. She said well maybe you did and don't remember! I told her there is no way that could happen because I've wanted one so bad I could have eaten it but I do have some restrain. I had my first nicotine test done in October 07 and it was negative after not smoking for 3 weeks. I know I shouldn't have started back but I had to wait so long and was so frustrated I did, but as soon as I got insurance approval that very day I quit and I have not had one since. Just needed to get this off my chest and hope to talk to some more DWLC people. Thanks, Debbie
Debbie,
I can't answer your questions but I can understand your frustration with stopping smoking. Today is smoke free day 5 for me. I know all too well that "I could eat one" feeling. I guess what is even worse for you is being accused of smoking when you haven't. Try not to let that discourage you to the point of starting back. That could mean just another hold up in the, hopefully, near future. I'm pulling for you!!!!!!!!
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

Hi Debbie, I totally understand what you are going through with Duke. They took the forum off their website because people were complaining about the services they are receiving. I got so fed up that I got all of my medical records back and I am in the process of going through UNC. I couldn't take it anymore the office is awful and the the people I came in contact with were rude and no one wanted to help me until I told them I was withdrawing my application and the NP wasn't helpful either. I hope everything works out for you. Keep me posted.
