Question!

I am currently on my 2 week pre-op diet.  If any of you are Gersin/Kuwada patients....Can we have pickles on this diet?  The nutritionist said we could have salad with veggies/steamed veggies/reaw veggies etc. Does that include pickles?  Also, have any of you tried the pro-performance protein powder from GNC?  I had the body fortress from Wal-mart and it was GROSS.  The pro-p is good....has anyone here used it? I also see that my sis (jwilhunt) posted about the successful surgery of one of my best buds Amy.  I am thrilled beyond belief that she did well.  I hope to go see her within a day or two.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I wish you every success as you embark on the journey of a lifetime. You have a wonderful cheerleader and support system built-in with Jennifer to lean on.

The protien powder that I found easiest to handle was American Whey Vanilla from GNC. I added fresh fruit or crystal lite powder to flavor it ... even cocoa to make it chocolate. Decaf coffee and DaVinci Sugar Free Caramel syrup was pretty good too.

Wishing you all the best,

Barb

I like the pro-preformance, but I wanted to be sure it was the right kind.  It is 100% whey, 20 grams of protein per serving, 100 calories and 2g of sugar.  It is almost the same as the other stuff I bought.  Jennifer has provided some great insights for me, went to meetings and so on with me.  We are very close anyway, so I know that she will be with me through this too! Thanks for your words of support!

Alot of people have their tastes change post-surgery.  I was able to stomach a lot of things before I went under.. but coming out on the other side?  Nada.  I was a horrible post-op protein drinker. Vitalady sells *samples* of different protein powders.. I just got a bunch to try.  It's good to see without having to buy a huge tub of the stuff.

The stuff I got today is pretty good.....better than the body fortress from GNC.  It only ahs 20g of protein per serving as opposed to the body fortress' 28g per serving.  It is also more expensive, which is worth it to me to be able to stomach the taste!

I meant to tell you yesterday that I have some unflavored Unjury if yout want to try it.  :)  I dont mind.  You can mix it with hot and cold stuff.   Also..have you heard from Amy today?  Let me know when you do.  Id love her address so I can mail her a card or her cell # so I can send her a text or give her a call.  :)

Okay.  I might take you up on it.  I called her mama and she said that Amy was sleeping and that she had been up some.  I think she felt pretty lousy last night and early this morning.  I can give you any of that stuff.  Call me or I will email it to you.
