Ok guys, I need some advice. Everytime I eat anything I start to feel nauseaus (sp). This is even when I start to eat. I am eating very slow and taking small bites. Today, I started to feel this way before I went to lunch, at lunch I went to Burger King and got just a plain grilled chicken breast, I maybe ate 2 bites of that and felt a little better, but now I am starting to feel a bit quizzy. I do not like feeling like this. Could it be what I am eating?? Any and all advice would be very appreciated. Quick update on me> 5 weeks post op -40 pounds. Other then the quizzy feeling, I am doing great. Thanks,   Danielle

I would definately call the surgeon and see what they say But here is what I am thinking... are you getting in enough fluids? are you making sure to eat a little every few hours? Dehydration can cause nausea... waiting too long to eat can have that effect too... however, many people have nausea post-op and are given anti-nausea meds to get thru it. At 5 weeks out I suggest you really prepare your own meals as much as possible... while grilled chicken is a good choice fast food is loaded with salt (and I mean loaded) many times you dont really know how its prepared or whats in it - for example Jack in the Box was frying their grilled chicken strips to heat them up... thats a lot of fat/oil in that 'grilled chicken'. You never really know what you are eating unless you make it yourself.

Danielle,

As usual, Jennifer always gives sound advice. Try to eat home cooked meals as much as you can. If I was out and unable to eat a homecooked meal, sometimes I'd run into the grocery store and get some sliced turkey from the deli or some cottage cheese ... maybe that would help.

Contact your dietician and see what they have to say.

Take care,

Barb

The ladies have given good advice. Water was my first thought. Make sure to stay hydrated. I also went through the same type of spell at about the same time you are. It did pass. Congrats on the weight loss so far. Andrea

Ok I am just about a year out.  Let it be known Burger King and some of the others have a spray flavoring that they spray on their foods to give it a Grilled taste.  Burger king makes me deathly sick and once again today I tried Hardees and yes I knew better and they also apparently use this flavoring for it is doing the same thing.  It has been months since I tried Hardees and now I know why.  The chemicals in fast food products to give it that just grilled taste or the preservatives in there "Fresh"  toxic laced salads  will not agree with your pouch.  You should be able to taste the chemicals this early out.  I did anyways and still can to a point.  I will be burping and regeritating this for the night....so much fun and stupid on my part.
