I have only experienced this once and it was after eating some chicken casserole I made.  I was talking to a friend on the phone while I was eating it and I'm not sure if I just wasn't paying close enough attention and ate too fast or didn't chew well enough but it was a gross experience and I felt horrible for about an hour afterwards.  I believe I was about 3 months out when it happened to me.  I'm sure it had to be caused by either eating too fast or not chewing well enough because I've eaten the same kind of casserole since and haven't experienced it anymore.  I hope you feel better soon! Hugs, Donna

The dreaded foamies!!!  Another symptom of dumping.  Whatever you ate your pouch did not like it.  Could of been to much carbs or fats maybe.  Sauces and creams are culprits also.

Wow for such a cute name the "foamies" are a pain in the keyster!! Thanks for the info. I am going to assume it was the fat in the hamburger or the A1 sauce. Altho I had had it before and it hadnt bothered me. Oh well live and learn.YUCK! LOL Melissa

That would be the "foamies".  Generally speaking, it comes from getting something caught in one of the openings of your stomach.  Once you throw it up, you usually feel much better.  I have had it once, I got a piece of chicken caught because I didn't chew it enough.  That is the sum total of why it happens. Take care and chew thoroughly.  Ellen

Hey Ellen,  Thanks for the info. It may have been I didnt chew it enough. I thought I did but who knows . I think I was fussing at kids while I was eating. I do know that I dont want that ever again. Ewww.I did feel better after I finished getting it up but it kinda ruined my whole evening. By the way ....look at you ...you are looking wonderful. Such an inspiration. I can't wait to accomplish the things you have!  Thanks again  Melissa

Typically we are told not to lay down after eating... I know its hard when you dont feel well but you want to try and sit up as much as possible for at least 20-30 minutes after eating so the food can move thru. I know people get the foamies for different reasons (I never experienced) but sitting up should help... or even just walking around some to help the food move thru.... it takes approx 20 minutes or so for the pouch to empty so thats a good guideline.

I remember the Nutritionist telling me density of what you are eating is critical. I ate some shrimp once and got the same effect your talking about. I was talking and not really paying attention to my chewing and think I swallowed it too fast. The biggest problem I have is reminding myself to slow down while I'm eating. I was always a fast eater. I have ate too fast sometimes and not listened to my pouch about fullness and then felt very yucky about thirty minutes later. It usually passes after I get still for another 30 minutes or so but I forget and do it again. Maybe I'll learn sooner or later. Best of luck. Mary
