I am told it can take about a month or so for the approval to come back so I will just have to wait. The one hitch is I don't have official documentation of weight history because I didn't see any doctors during the years that their is no documentation. I am hoping my diabetes will be enough to carry it through though. We will see.

hey Ann- i will cross my fingers for ya. wow i hope it doesnt take a whole month. just keep us posted. how long have you been on this journey to have surgery? im also worried about being aprroved. i have no diagnosed comorbities as of yet and my BMI is borderline at 39.9(today anyway) so i may not get approved because im not heavier. i sure hope BCBS gets taht im tryinhg to prevent this from happening and i really need this tool.

I'm waiting with you. Mine was suppose to have been submitted on the 6th of May but it didn't get faxed over until the 15th (UGHHHHHH>>>>>>) Anyway it's all at CIGNA now and I just about jump out of my seat everytime my cell phone rings. Good Luck and God Speed! - Iris

From what I've heard about BCBSNC, they are usually pretty quick to give an answer ~ like within a couple of days. So hopefully you won't have to wait a whole month. Good luck and I hope you get a big ole YES very soon!!! Hugs, Donna

Gee thanks everyone! All this encouragement has really lifted my spirits. I will keep on doing what I can until I get the call to get ready for this surgery. I know it is the right thing for me.

I bet you'll hear something from them in the next few days! I have BCBSNC also, and got approved 2 days after they submitted it! Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for ya!
