Out of the Hospital today

I had my first complication from my surgery... a bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that formed at the Y of my RNY.  Now I would classify that as intestinal blockage, but it was listed as bowel obstruction.  6 weeks out of work... working on my disability claim... hey... I'm aok!

Wow Diane, glad to hear you're home again.  Did they repair that surgically?  Scary to have a complication this far out.  Hope you're feeling 100% soon!

Hey Deb, Yes, Dr. Farrell went in through my belly button, laproscopically. I have 4 new incisions and a lot of abdominal bruising, but feel good.  Thx.  Dr. Farrell said I had a complete blockage, but the repair only took 10 minutes on the operating table! Diane

Wow, I'm glad you're doing better and are home from the hospital now.  6 week vacation - woo hoo!!!  LOL!!  I would love 6 weeks off, but not because of surgery of course!  I just had my gall bladder off at Christmas time so I had my vacation (recovery time) then.   Anyway, I'm glad you're home and doing a ok!  Take care!

I'm so very sorry to hear of your complication, but I'm glad to hear that you are back home and recovering well. I had a kidney stone attack this past Monday and my fear when it occured was that I might have had a blockage myself.

I'm sorry for the complication, but hope that you will continue to recover quickly and gently.
