Hi Shelli,

There are so many factors that go into deciding which procedure and practice to go with. I think you will feel more comfortable as you talk with the surgeons and then you might even see about seeking out some of their clients here on OH. If you post asking for input, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. You might also post on the RNY and Lap boards for input.

Wishing you success in your journey,

Barb

P.S. I hold a monthly support group in Raleigh and we have one coming up this Saturday. You are welcome to join us if you would like. We have folks from all over the area, different practices, different surgeries and in different points in their respective journies. If you would like more information, please go to http://wls.meetup.com/101 and you find the details.

I think when picking a surgeon go with the one you feel the most comfortable with - usually within a few minutes of meeting somebody you will know if you get along with them or not. As for procedure - I would get all the facts first and then weigh each out - so much goes into deciding what surgery... medical issues, weight, age, previous surgeries etc... then discuss your options with the surgeon to see what they feel would be the best and why.

First visit to surgeon - 288 ~ bmi 45.1
2 week pre-op 252 ~ bmi 39.5
Total lost - 153 Since surgery - 117!
Goal weight - 155 (mine) 180 (surgeons)
Current weight - 135 (2020 I lost 10lbs due to dedicating myself to working out more and being in better shape)

1/14/2025 still maintaining 135 :-)

Extended TT, lipo, fat injections - 11/2011

BA/BL/Arm Lift - 7/2014

Scar revision on arms - 3/2015

HALO laser on arms/neck 9/2016

Thigh Lift 10/2020

Thigh Lift revision 10/2021

I went with the LapBand & DR Moran, I am happy with my decision.

Good Luck
