After much soul searching, I've decided...
to have RNY...I was really scared, on the fence, and decided to take some time away fom OH. I took a couple of weeks to work it all out and I've decided to continue my journey. I meet with my new PCP (one who supports WLS) tomorrow. I've already done my nutrition eval. and psych. eval. I'm sure it will still take some time though...On Friday, while at a recheck for my unhealed c-section from 9/07 they said the infection was so bad that they had to open it all back up again. I'm out of work for at least 2 weeks, I have a home health nurse and I'm supposed to be getting a wound vac tomorrow. I'm stll going to go to my PCP because I think I can at least do all my bloodwork...But anyway, I prayer and prayed and found peace with my decision. I just want to thank all of you for your support!

Michele,
Don't feel bad about being on the fence... This is a very personal decision and has to be a definate decision for the long haul. It took me 3 years before I finally decided to have RNY, but it was the best decision for me (I had my RNY over 5 years ago). I hope you know we all support your decision and will do all we can to help you! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
Have a great week and I hope you feel better soon!!!

You are going to Love Dr Berman and his staff, they are proactive medical team and he has a sister with severe diabettes so that is one of his main causes .Melissa is the PA that is very familiar with WLS as her MOM had RNY and i work with her. I am actually going in on tuesday myself for my three month blood work.
Again I know this is a stressfull time for you and if you need anything I am here for you.

Michelle,
I think that it is great that you are taking the time you need to make this incredibly important, life changing decision. It is one that deserves all of the thought and consideration that you are giving it.
I sorry to hear that you are having healing issues with your c-section scar and hope that they resolve well and soon.
I wish you every success in your journey,
Barb

I bet its a relief to have made a good decision for yourself. Now the rest of it is just prep and waiting cause you know what you are going to do. I am having the RNY soon and Since I made up my mind I am at peace with the decision and have been as proactive about preparing as I possibly can. I feel better already and it is only the beginning.

Congratulations on your choice to give yourself a chance to lead a healthier, happier life. I am one who says this is by far the best decision I have ever made and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner than I did. Good luck to you on your journey and remember that we are all here to help you as much as we can along the way. Always remember, no question is a dumb question except for the one you were too afraid to ask.
Hugs,
Donna
