It's true.  After several months of appointments and anticipation, I finally have a surgery date...June 10th!  I can't believe this is really going to happen.  I am so excited!  Now comes the pre-op diet...any tips for high protein, low carb snacks and meals will be greatly appreciated.   Amanda

Congrats!!! You are going to do wonderfully! I love making bean wraps... whole wheat tortilla wrap with a mixture of black beans and refried beans (fat free) a little cheese, lettuce, and a tad bit of salsa... so fabulous... also try lots of shrimp and chicken... yum yum! GOOD LUCK!!! -Juliana PS. Please let me know if you have any questions!

That's so exciting. I found some sample menus on the about.com website.  I'll try and go look it up now and give you some more specific link info. - Iris

Amanda,

Congratulations on getting your new birthdate! My daughter Sarah's birthday is June 10th, so it's special day to me ... now it will be for you too! I worked on a "South Beach" style way of eating prior to surgery and it held be in very good stead ... I have to say that I generally still eat that way ... Protien first, followed by complex carbs, with a few simple carbs if I still have room.

It won't be long now!

Fage or Oikos yogurt w/ some SF preserves in them. The new HT here has both versions (most of the time.. they were out yesterday of the big tubs..)
