Pysch Appt :uhoh:
Good Morning!
I have my pysch appt. tomorrow and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers.
This is my last appt!
yea!! I heard that some of the docs will make you come back in two weeks and some won't. I hope that they clear me tomorrow. If they do, boy I am gonna speed dial Southern Surgical!!
I met Dr. Naziri last Thursday (had my endoscopy). He is awesome!! I loved his bedside manner. I can't believe that I am almost there!
Thanks as always!! You all are wonderful!!

Yay, Angie! You are one stop closer!
I think your psyc visit will depend on who you are seeing. I saw Jenny at Pain Management and she made me "diet" for a month to make sure I was serious and then released me. It was my LAST appt also so I called SS just as I pulled out of the driveway. :) Keep us posted on how things go and I'll be praying for a quick release!

It's a BOY!
My psych appointment was a breeze. I went to Carolina Psychiatry right by Southern Surgical. She mainly asked me questions like "Did I have trouble getting up of the floor" "Did I get short of breath while walking" The only real psych questions she asked me was "Why did I want to have the surgury" and "Did I feel like I was depressed because of my weight" Which by the way - Although I felt like yes to that one at times I told her NO! It really wasn't bad though. Good luck and keep me posted. Donna
My Pysch appointment was mostly him telling me what was going to happen to me and that if I hit a stall or emotionally run into issues after surgery that I am to call him. He also told me to call if I start gaining weight. He said too many people "get off track and can't get back on" and he said they never think to go back to the pysch. Then he ask some questions about what I knew about the procedure.
Angie,
I was really nervous about my psych appointment, but it was great. I saw Lisa Driver. She is the psychologist that Southern Surgical-Rocky Mount uses. She had RNY 9 years ago and offered a lot of good tips including this website. She mainly asked about family history, how I felt about myself, what were my strengths and weaknesses, etc. There were also several pages of questionnaires to fill out. I did have to go back in 2 weeks so she would have time to review all the forms, etc. and write her recommendation. The 2nd visit was really short and that's when I found out I was cleared by her. I'm actually looking forward to meeting with her again after surgery (they require at least 5 follow-up visits: 1,3,6,9,& 12 months). Good luck!
