I had Lap Band surgery through Medical Tourism (Mexico), on April 14th and am looking for a local (NC) surgeon who will take me as a transfer patient for follow-up and fills.  Has anyone had any experience as a transfer patient?  I'l be ready for my first fill the end od May. Thanks! Marilyn

Thanks for that help, grammylew  I had Dr. Ortiz as well.  I had been told about the Fill Centers, but hoped to find something closer to Raleigh.  I may go back to Tijuana for my first fill.  I appreciate your recommendation of Dr. Ahigian.  That may be my best bet.  Good luck!  It looks like you're doing great. (I haven't figured out how to add a weight tracker to my profile yet.)

Drs. Roc Bauman and Jon Pirrello of Carolina Weight Loss Surgery in Concord will do fills/followup on patients who had their surgeries out of the country.

You can give a call to Lisa Long and Dr. Paul Enochs and their teammates at Surgical Specialists of NC in Raleigh --  919-459-0091 -- and ask if they take on Bandits who had their initial surgeries with other surgeons.

I too was trying to find someone in Raleigh to do my fills when I was a little agitated with the Duke group. Dr. Moran will take on other bandsters but he wanted me to pay him $1000 up front before he would even see me and $500 for each year after. I just did not think this was normal. So I swallowed my pride and went back to Duke. Dr. Gonzales in Winston-Salem will take patients who had surgery in Mexico. I know several persons who use him.

Thank you all for your advice.  I've checked with Dr. Enochs office.  They were very nice but the fee was $2,500.  Duke will do it for an initial fee of $500.  I'm not sure how much each fill is after that.  I've been cut off twice trying to get that info. (I think it's a phone problem on my end). I might just end up going through Fill Center USA, but I was hoping to aviod the long drive to the nearest participating center. I will check out Dr. Gonzales in WS.  Thanks for the tips! Marilyn

Yikes! Sorry to hear about your troubles finding a doc. Those prices seem CRAZY! What is the purpose for the high price? If you've already had the surgery and your only looking for filling maintenance??????? Concord isnt that far and has that great outlet mall...seems like you could make a day of it. JMO cuz I LOVE outlet malls! ROADTRIP! LOL Best Wishes!
