Went to the Plastic Surgeon Today

I was so nervous.  I'm not kidding you.  I almost turned around and went home.  I have a headache.  I know I should be excited, but it was awful taking my clothes off and having pictures taken.  I made the nurse promise never to show them to anyone.  The shots are neck down, thank God I can deny it all.  won't me... only kidding The doctor told me this is a more serious surgery than the gastric bypass itself! Ok, no aspirin or motrin or any green tea or cammomile tea... blood thinners.  He's not doing the abdomnioplasty but the extended torsoplasty.  It's a 5 hr. surgery, I'll be out of work at least 2 months.  I go home from the hospital with 4 drains for 2 weeks!  And i signed the papers for the insurance today, with a projected surgery date of September.   My head is spinning!

Congratulations!!!  If you don't mind me asking, how much weight did you lose?

Hi Michelle,\ I lost 125 lbs, don't mind at all.  It seems everyone I know is against me having this surgery.  You really can't see my loose skin with my clothes on, so they don't understand.  sigh  Thanks for asking, Diane

I worry about that too...I have about 100 lbs to lose...I expect I'll need some work on my tummy...Did your insurance cover it?

Oh my Diane!  So good to hear from you again!  But whooooeeeeeee!  This is  big news!  And your insurance is paying for it?  However did you get them to do that?  Tell me more! Keep us posted!

Good to see you too!  We are just applying to the insurance company now.  I tell you it won't break my heart if they say no.  Another serious surgery is not appealing.  And who cares about a bikini at 55?  LOL

Diane, So good to see you posting again!  I'm thrilled and impressed you're going to have plastic surgery!!  What insurance do you have and was there any clauses?  I haven't gotten that far yet, but the more stories I hear, the more excited I get about it.  September will be here before you know it- what a wonderful early "Holiday" present to yourself!
