Darcie:
So sorry to hear of your horrible experience. About 5 years ago I was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and had to have spinal taps to remove excess fluid. My first one leaked for 3 days before I realized this was not normal and I had to go in for a blood patch. I was flat of my back for 10 days recovering from that with a headache that was worse than the ones they were supposed to be getting rid of. Your original post brought all this back and I started once to post about it but i didn't want to terrify you any more than you already were! Needless to say I have issues when the doctor tells me that I should come in for a "therapeutic LP" (I swear this is what they say, NOT spinal tap). Just stay as flat as you can until you get your blood patch and then hopefully you'll be back to normal in a few days. The pain meds really didn't help me, unless i took enough to knock me out for a couple of hours. GOOD LUCK!!
Pamela
Everytime I have to have a spinal tap, which is once a year I have to have a blood patch. They take blood from your arm and inject it where they do the spinal tap. It is amazing how quick the headache goes away. I had to go to a pain management clinic to have it done. I was told by Dr. Brown @ Brunswick Community Hospital in Supply to just go there next time and they will do it for me so I wouldn't have to wait.
I can feel for you. I am so sorry your having to go through this.

I hope I didn't bring this on.. or send you some bad carma...
Like I told you I have had 3 spinal headaches..
I hope you have gotten a blood patch by now.. It will help and it will make it A LOT BETTER.
Be very very careful with your back now.. You will have brusing and pain there for a few months.
I am so thinking of you and hoping your week gets better.
You are in my prayers..
Cory
