Pre-op ????

Is it normal to be having the bloodwork, EKG, etc done so far in advance?  I do not even have a surgery date set up yet and I am scared my insurance will freak.  Don't insurance companies and anesthesiologists want all that stuff done about one week before surgery? 

I had mine all done in November and December and then surgery date was not until 2/19.  You have to get all that stuff done to make sure you are a good candidate and that all is ok for surgery.   Good luck and welcome to a wonderful support group! Pam

NO I had all of my stuff done in November of 2007 and surgery was not until March 2008.   They will not give you a surgery date until all the tests come back okay, they need time to look at the results and then scheduled any other needed tests if anything comes back abnormal! They can't do that if you only have a week till surgery!!
