I just had to share with all of you.  I have not felt well the past few days. I didn't feel like doing any thing. I did make myself move---thought maybe it was too little fluid intake because I was getting in my protein.  Any way....I actually ran a few errands today with my boys. It sounds silly, but just a few errands exhausted me, but by grannies, I did them myself. The left sided soreness and muscle pulling has really had me down.  I was starting to feel a little depressed--I think from the whole of this new life of mine It has only been 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery---I have lost 28 pounds (that includes the 5 pounds the two weeks before surgery).  I feel like it has stalled a bit....but am worried it may be a little early for a stall.  Did any of you have a mini stall the first few weeks as your body adjusted?  I know I've read other posts about the "normal" fears and anxiety in the beginning, but a little reassurance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, sorry you have been feeling yucky. I hate that! As for the weight loss, it sounds like you're doing incredibly well. ..28 lbs? Holy crap! That's half of my weight loss in total since my surgery on 2/12!! Don't worry. The scale will move again. Feel better! xoxo Mare

Thanks for the encouragement. I know we are each different and our bodies react differently to the surgery.  I just want to be sure that I am progressing the way I'm supposed to I guess.  I think (and I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this---I am still waiting for the familiar "it didn't work feeling".  I have tried to lose weight my whole life. As far as the changes now....it is much easier with the surgery as a tool.  Thanks for listening!

Put your worries aside. You're doing fantastic. I lost 22 lbs my first two weeks and only a pound during the next two. It will pass. You just have to give your body to adjust. I also went through the stage of being extrememly tired, but that too has passed. I'll be 5 months out on Sat.

Sorry you've felt bad. You are doing great! You are eating, drinking, and moving. The weight will drop, maybe today, maybe next week, but it will drop and it will go in the right direction, down, down, down. You may not be losing every day but that's not a stall, don't even think it. Stay positive, this WILL work. Years of yo-yo are in your past, now is time to keep to the plan and watch the success happen. ((((Big hugs)))) Teri

Thanks, Teri!  Bless your heart...you have to hear me whine in person, I hate you have to hear me whine on hear.  I just throw that in for free with my friendship. I was gonna call you today, but thought...dear Lord, you are probably tired of me talking about the surgery and everything else.  I gave you a break today.  You're welcome.  lol Talk to you soon.  I'll be back in town on Sunday.

You're doing great, and your results are completely normal!  Keep in mind that for the first few weeks, the only response your body has to the lack of food is to lose weight.  But our bodies are remarkable things and they adapt.  That's what's happenning.  Your body is trying to adapt to its new cir****tances.  That's what the stall is.  But you're not giving it enough calories to stop losing completely...it WILL start up again!  I had my first stall right around week 3, and was hurting for a good 4 weeks.  So, hang in there.  One day you'll wake up and feel better.  The energy takes a little longer to come back.  Remember, not only have you gone through a major surgery, but you're not giving your body the fuel that it's used to, so of course it's tired!  All will adjust and you'll be telling us how happy you are in no time!
