OT Tommorro... Im scared

Im up at the crack of dawn today because Im so whipped up and nervous about tommorro. The admissions nurse called me a few days ago and told me not to worry, other people have gotten me in a tizz (like my own mother) tellng me how horrible the spinal tap is going to be... I hate needles.. and my biggest fear is if I dont lie totally still after the procedure I will get a kick ass worse then my migraines headache.
I have to stay at the hospital after the procedure for three hours and lay stiff as a board and not move at all.. well they are hooking me up to a IV and those always make me want to pee.. Im scared Im going to have to pee really bad and that WILL make me move.. I know this sounds all so stupid and silly... hubby has the day off so hes driving me and will be there for me all day tommorro. Last night for no reason at all I was laying in my bed watching TV and I had the WORST migraine attack Ive had in years.. I stumbled outside to tell hubby i was going to go sit in the closet (super dark) and take my valium and to check on me in awhile. He came in and turned the A/C down real low and pulled my blackout curtains around the windows and put me in my bed with my sleeping mask on. The Valium knocked me out and I woke up a few hours later. My shoulder is burning like crazy this morning and I really really hope they find out what is going on with me because I cannot take all this pain anymore. Thanks for letting me whine and share my story I just needed a little hug and support from my wonderful OH friends.... Im hoping Im getting all whipped up for nothing

A very scared and in pain,

(((((((((Darcie)))))))) I am sorry you are so worked up and nervous about tomorrow.  Just try to remember that the things we get ourselves in a tizzy over usually wind up being nothing at all like we imagine.  While I've never had a spnal tap and I'm sure they aren't the most pleasant things in life, they can't be all that bad or people wouldn't survive them, right?????   Do whatever you possibly can to relax today and let that sweet hubby of yours take care of you.  It's o.k. to be scared ~ just don't let it control you!!!  YOU WILL GET THRU THIS!!!!!!   You are in my thoughts and prayers. Donna :-)

Aaaaaaaw...I love you honey. Don't be scared. You'll be fine. Of course no one wants to go through that but if they can find out the cause and fix you, well worth it. You're in my thoughts and prayers, friend. xoxo Pean

Darc, Breathe Breathe!  I know you're scared and it's understandable, but think of the positive and know everything will work out!  I had a spinal also (and I hear you about not liking needles - they scare the (*&^% right out of me!) but my spinal wasn't all that bad.  Just concentrate on feeling better and having more migraine free days!  I'm a wiggler too and although they say to be still, I still wiggled a little.  They told me that if I had to pee that they could put a cathader in and that took care of things for me, just knowing that kept me from having to pee.  Also I couldn't drink anything for like 6 hours so didn't have anything in my bladder.   I'm sorry you had that terriblle migraine!  I've been blessed and don't get them very often, but whew the ones I have had weren't fun!  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers girll!  Keep us posted!!!  And just remember to take deep cleansing breaths!   We're all wrapping you up in OH hugs!!! Sheryl
