Nine months out and. . .
. . . doing absolutely fantastic!!! Hey everyone. The sweetie and I ventured back down to NC today (a 3 hour drive from where we live in VA ~ ugh!!) for my 9 month check up today at Baptist in Winston-Salem. According to my surgeon I am doing great! My vitamin D level is low so he prescribed a once a week pill for that but everything else looked good. I have lost a total of 118 lbs which is about 70% of my excess body weight so that puts me in the "successful WLS patient" category according to the surgeon's office. He has set my goal weight for between 165 and 170 although I really want to get down to 159 lbs for at least 5 minutes so that my BMI will be in the "normal" range. I feel so much better than I have ever felt and even though some days I still the fat girl staring back at me from the mirror, I know that I really won't ever be that girl again. Life is good and I am so blessed and thankful to have such an easy and complication free journey so far. Thanks for letting me share! You all are such great inspirations to me! Hugs, Donna P.S. I almost forgot ~ before venturing to NC today, I had a job interview here in VA this morning that lasted 3 hours! I got a phone call whle at my surgeon's office and I GOT THE JOB!!!!!! Whoo hoo! So this truly was a great day for me!!
