The count down has begun. Exactly 3 weeks from today I will be in surgery. Im mentally preparing my self to start my liquid diet next monday. Anyone have any suggestion on how to get thru the liquid diet with out turning to the EXORCIST?

Hey girl... just keep the faith!  Dr. K is the bomb-diggity and knows exactly what he is doing.  I personally think we have the BEST BEST BEST surgeon ever!!  I will give you the same advice I got when I started the liquid diet.  The good part is that every word was true.  The first three days will be the hardest.  For some odd reason if you get that far you are on a great track.  Just keep in mind that your ultimate goal is a slimmer liver for your surgery!!!!   Keep us posted!!!

Hey!!! I agree i think Dr. k is the best. Got a question for you, you think it will ok to put fruit in my protein shake during the liquid diet? I see you are doing great on your slim down!!!

No.. no fruit on the liquid diet.  The fruit has too many carbs for what he is trying to accomplish.  Dr. K wants your liver to shrink down so he can more easily do your surgery.   Jody did tell me that I could have a nice big salad at night though if I got hungry.  I could also eat two tablespoons of peanut butter if it got really bad.  I did that about once a day.   Thanks for the encouragement.  I attribute a lot of my success to our wonderful surgeon and his staff!!!

I did 6 shakes a day of Carnation Instant Breakfast.   From the start, i just started at 7 am and drank every 2 1/2 hours with my last one being at 7:30 pm and that way i never was hungry and got them all in and never got that voracious starving hunger.   My doctor also said the point of this is no carbs so not only does the liver shrink but becomes softer and easier to move back for them to do the surgery.    Just keep your eye on the goal and you will be fine! Take care, Pam
