Putting the brakes on ... xpost

Barb, I had the same problem 3 years ago, I had gotten to my goal weight and kept loosing a little here and there.  I went to my WLS doctor and he told me that you will stop loosing, your body would adjust and it would just stop.  He said if I wanted to do something more to stop it sooner that I should add a little more carbs to my meals.  He said to still follow the rules, protein first...  So that's what I did.  I stopped loosing and for a while was feeling wonderful.  Then I moved back here to NC and started gaining, 27 lbs later I'm now trying to get back down to the weight I was 3 years ago.  So my advise to you is that if you're below what your goal weight is for you then to add a little bit of carbs, but be careful or you'll end up gaining again.  At first I wasn't worried about the gain (5 lbs) but it just kept adding up...  Even though I'm still 217 lbs down from where I began (5 1/2 years ago) it scares me enough to cut back on my eating again and work out more to get this off...  But, my tool still works so that's great!   Best of luck to you!  Let me know if I can help!

Hi Sheryl,

Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. I have been doing as you suggested, I guess just not enough. I too, am worried about gaining it back if I'm not careful. I guess time will tell.

Thanks again,

Barb

BTW ... I'm still in awe of your accomplishments.
